In the summer of 1963, Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Grey) finds herself spending yet another summer at a dull Catskills resort with her parents. Just as she thinks her chance of summer fun is impossible, Baby meets the resort’s dance instructor Johnny (Patrick Swayze) and is swept into a whirlwind of drama, dancing, and love. Audiences have spent nearly 40 years having the time of their lives watching Dirty Dancing, which was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry in 2024.

This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with University of Missouri researchers.
