In 2021, Texas lawmaker Matt Krause makes a list of 850 books that he wants banned in libraries–books that predominantly focus on race and LGBTQ+ stories–ushering in a drastic wave of book bans across the country. Caught in the maelstrom of heated debates at school and library board meetings nationwide and facing increasing harassment, a group of librarians join together in the fight for their livelihoods, intellectual freedom, and democracy. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with staff from Daniel Boone Regional Library discussing the topics and themes within the film.
Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Thursday, January 8 at 12PM.

"From its superb opening-credits sequence paying tribute to card catalogs of yore to its sharp selection of vintage clips and intimate reportage, “The Librarians” is as well-crafted as it is profoundly alarming."
–Sheri Linden, New York Times
