Film Reviews

"It’s one of the best films of the year, tackling deadly serious subject matter with a wry playfulness which will keep you off balance from its first scene to its last."

–Oscar Goff, Boston Hassle

"This smart, brutal, often funny thriller uses the travails of one ordinary man to capture a reactionary era in its daily realities and surreal absurdities, its public cruelty and private decency."

–John Powers, NPR

"[Wagner] Moura's work here is nothing short of a revelation. Gone is the explosive intensity that made him famous in Narcos. In its place, he offers something far more devastating: the performance of a man forced to disappear while remaining visible."

–Kathia Woods, Cup of Soul
