On a small island off the New England coast during the summer of 1965, 12-year-old lovers Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop (Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) decide to elope into the wilderness together. However, a major hurricane is soon to descend on their island and Suzy’s bickering parents (Bill Murray and Frances McDormand), Sam’s former Khaki Scouts troop, and a depressed cop (Bruce Willis) are hot on their trail. Wes Anderson’s trademark nostalgic twee is ever bittersweet in this tale of young love on the run. Selected for Ragtag Rewind by former Ragtag Film Society Executive Director Tracy Lane.
