In 1944 Spain, young Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) encounters a magical faun who reveals that she is actually a princess from a different world than her current reality. Ofelia must complete three tasks to return to her true home while navigating the ruthless violence of her army officer stepfather who is quelling a guerrilla uprising in the countryside. A fantasy parable from writer and director Guillermo del Toro, Pan’s Labyrinth earned global critical acclaim and remains as one of the most well-regarded films in del Toro’s oeuvre.
