A tale of healing and unlearning hate unfolds in this documentary set in Clarkston, Georgia, the most ethnically diverse square mile in America. After renouncing his membership in a white supremacist group, veteran and family man Chris Buckley still struggles with Islamophobia. When he receives a text from Hevel, a cardiologist and Kurdish refugee, seeking to quell rising negative rhetoric against his refugee resettlement community, Chris is set on a journey where he must meet with and learn from those he once used to hate. This screening will be followed by a community conversation led by City of Refuge exploring topics such as polarization, community building, and the importance of being open to different perspectives.
