Brothers Derek (Edward Norton) and Danny (Edward Furlong) are deeply immersed in the white supremacist movement in Los Angeles. While incarcerated for killing two Black men, Derek undergoes major reform and decides to leave behind his hateful past. Upon his release, he attempts to prevent his younger brother Danny from following the same path of violence and hate. An unflinching portrait exploring the horrors of white supremacy ideology, American History X is a dark tale of redemption. This screening will be followed by a community conversation led by Race Matters, Friends exploring topics such as race, ideology, and prisons.
