Young lion Simba is eager to follow his father’s legacy and become ruler of the animal kingdom, but after the tragic loss of his guiding light, Simba is forced into exile and his villainous uncle usurps the throne. Grappling with betrayal and tragedy, Simba must confront his past and find his rightful place in the circle of life. Inspired in part by Shakespeare’s Hamlet, The Lion King is considered one of the greatest animated films ever made.
