California city kid Benny (Keir Tallman) and his cousin Frybread Face (Charley Hogan) spend the summer of 1990 at their grandmother’s ranch in the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Unfamiliar with life on the “rez,” Benny gets a crash-course from the savvier Frybread Face and their assortment of eccentric relatives. Made by a majority Native cast and crew and executive produced by Taika Waititi, the feature narrative debut from writer/director Billy Luther is a beautiful tribute to cultural awakening, unbreakable family bonds, and the nostalgia of childhood summers.
