The Witches

When 8-year-old Luke and his sickly grandmother take a trip to a seaside hotel, they find themselves sharing the space with a convention for witches. Academy Award winner Anjelica Huston stars as the Grand High Witch, whose main goal is to rid the world of children by turning them into mice. Based on the 1983 children’s novel by Roald Dahl, The Witches was the final film that executive producer and master puppeteer Jim Henson personally worked on before his death in 1990. Huston’s deliciously wicked performance and Henson’s imaginative puppetry transformed Dahl’s twisted fantasy into a family friendly, spooky season classic.
