After a disastrous night before the big family vacation, Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) wishes that his family would disappear. The next morning, his wish comes true, after he discovers that he’s been left behind by his family. His delight in having the place all to himself quickly dissipates when he discovers that two bumbling burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) are targeting the neighborhood. An instant holiday classic directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, Home Alone catapulted Culkin into childhood stardom and has since inspired many children to experiment with their own booby traps.
This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with researchers from the University of Missouri.
