One night in 2003, a Harvard undergrad has an idea for an online social network. Six years later, Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) is the youngest billionaire in history with over 500 million online “friends,” but for this entrepreneur, success comes with both personal and legal complications. Directed by David Fincher with a script from Aaron Sorkin and featuring a star-studded cast, The Social Network dramatizes the origins of Facebook through the warring perspectives of the young men who each claim ownership over the platform. For its 15th anniversary, The Social Network will screen on 35mm. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with University of Missouri researchers as part of Extra Credit.
